Danica (Dani) Zupic

Originally from San Diego & Monterey, California and Southern Pines, North Carolina, Dani Zupic graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master’s in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where she was a member of the Hawai‘i TWS Chapter.  She has worked as a NOAA-Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology Fellow with NOAA’s Office of Education and Bay - Watershed Education and Training Grants Program (B-WET); as well as an intern for the Office of Conservation and Coastal Lands, and Department of Aquatic Resources for the Hawai‘i Department of Natural Resources.  She most recently volunteered with the Institute of Bird Populations’ Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship program in Indiana and spent three months on Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge. She has also worked and lived in the Caribbean, Florida, Oregon and Arizona. During this internship, Dani hopes to immerse herself in the field of environmental policy, to learn how to more effectively link environmental education and wildlife conservation objectives with federal mandates and missions for non-profit partnerships and coalitions.
