Student Chapter Advisor of the Year

The Student Chapter Advisor of the Year award is given to an outstanding student chapter advisor each year. The Student Development Working Group initiated the award in 2002 and awarded its first recipient at the 2004 conference.

The goal of the award is to encourage and recognize exceptional annual mentorship by TWS student chapter advisors. Active and effective student chapters are needed to achieve The Wildlife Society's goals, and the advisor is the backbone of the chapter. Involved and dedicated student chapter advisors strengthen the Society's membership recruitment and retention efforts by providing opportunities for student member involvement in Society activities. The Student Chapter Advisor of the Year award pays tribute to these important members of The Wildlife Society.

The top advisor receives a plaque at the Society's annual conference award ceremony detailing her/his accomplishments.

Nomination Instructions

Student chapters are invited to nominate their advisor or another chapter’s advisor for the award by completing an application form. The advisor receiving the award is not eligible to be selected for recognition in the following year.
